Having recently found their village in a beachside suburb on the New South Wales Central Coast (a stones-throw from me), Annette, her artist husband and their three children – Bella, Saffron and Ziggy – are happy to stay put for years to come. As a working mum, Annette admits that early mornings are her normal. “I get up at 5am, sometimes earlier, to get a few hours in before I have to start getting the children ready for school. I work during school hours but consider the afternoon and evening to be precious family time,” she says. In-between ferrying the kids to various weekend sports, Annette takes the time to slow down and nurture when she can. “I do love a good coffee – coconut milk latte – and a beautiful meal never goes astray. My favourite? Probably salmon, baked sweet potato and a kale, avocado and cashew salad.”
