catching up
I’m on deadline this week – not the best timing considering it’s school holidays but I’m managing to juggle family time, work time, sleep time. It’s funny how I naturally break everything up into distinct segments yet if I’m entirely honest it’s more a mish-mash of to and fro, here and there. When I’m not sitting at the laptop working, I’m purposefully moving around the house because it’s just too cold to sit still. This is a particularly useful predicament to be in considering I’m behind on housework, hence I’m making my way through the overwhelming washing pile and organising and sorting things that have been waiting for my attention (but not my tax receipts – no).
The kids and I went to the op-shop today – for the first time in a long time. I don’t tend to go as often as I used to; I found I was bringing home unnecessary things simply because they were too good to pass up. However, today we found what we needed and returned home happy – a fairy outfit for Poet (because fairy wings don’t tend to last very long when you wear them every day) and for Che: flannelette pyjamas and a book on how to create comics.
Over the past few days I’ve been working on a photography post for those bloggers who want to photograph their children but don’t want to reveal their identities. It’s a completely personal decision to post photos of your child online and I think, as a blogger, its something you continually question as your online space evolves and your children grow (speaking from experience). If the stars align I’ll post tomorrow; such is my up-in-the-air schedule right now.
It’s tea time, then bed time.
Yes to the op shop point, yes to the moving around because it's too cold and yay for the photography post. It's so hard to figure out what the right thing to do it when it comes to sharing your kids on your blog – I can't wait to read the post. Xox
I always love your photography posts Jodi. Yes to the op shop point too x
Sunny has been living in a pair of Fairy Wings that I payed a ridiculous price for at the markets over the weekend. In my defense the wings are utterly beautiful and completely handmade. I'm looking forward to reading your post about photographing children without revealing too much. I loved taking part in your 52 series last year but made the decision not to partake this year for similar reasons that you expressed some time ago about your decision not to post pictures of Che.
These are busy days! So glad to see that hat being put to use. xx
Look forward to reading your photography post. It's definitely something I think about with my girls x
Look forward to the post – I don't even have kids yet but it's definitely something I think about for when I do. I don't think I couldn't not post pictures of them online but at the same time it's hard not to worry about safety and privacy.
