“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2013.”
Che: His winter has been about two things: a spiderman onesie and long lego building sessions (usually wearing the onesie whilst building the lego).
Poet: Flyaway hair and rolled up denim; so happy on the shore.

It’s been a quiet week around here as I tap, tap, tap on the keyboard, trying to meet a huge deadline. Working from home is always interesting; life goes on around me as I escape into a bubble of emails, interviews and stories. I’m not the nicest person to be around at times like these but thankfully my three besties excuse my bad behaviour.
How has your week been?
………………………………………………………………………………………….
Reading blogs is always a welcome break from monotonous work. I wish I was throwing pebbles into the lagoon like this sweet boy / or hiding in a field of daisies like Lily / warming in the winter sun with these cuties / chasing these furry bundles across the sand / or spending my time lakeside like Bespoke – water like glass.

That second picture is so beautiful. I love this project. I thought about doing it for my little guy, but I totally fudged the beginning of this year. Maybe next year I'll do weekly portraits.

The black and white of the sea is so beautiful – I love how the light falls. We're just getting into lego now… I put it off for as long as possible… but now my little boy is loving it!

Your picture of Che reminded me of when Noah was little and we played Spider-Man dress up. I had to be MaryJane, it was adorable. X

Axel will be excited to see that Che is doing the very thing he has been doing lately. I didn't even see your photo when I chose mine of Axel for this week. He has been hard at work with those Legos.

I always marvel at the forgiveness that I am offered by the ones closest to me for my unkindness toward them. I have been struggling with that as well as working on having a good attitude. Seeing my children as a nuisance is not a road I want to go down. This 52 project has helped me in that goal. I love seeing the photos every week!

How brilliant is lego?! And squishing your toes through wet sand is the perfect elixir for pretty much anything. Wishing you a week of calm and words that flow like rain as you approach deadline. And thanks for the mention lovely one 🙂 xx

These are both great shots and I agree that you really capture your children's personalities through your lens. Which is the whole idea, of course! Well done to you, Jodi. Your photography has just come on in leaps and bounds since I first started reading your blog (gosh, back in 2009!) x

It's hard to imagine that we have summer. My son is on holiday now – in my parents home. I missed him so much that today I visited him. He missed me too. I promise him that on Firday he is going home. Home home sweet home… I am full time working mum…
