“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2013.”
Che: The morning of the Easter parade in an absolutely fabulous hand-made hat.
Poet: The gaze that broke my heart. She has been feverish for the past four days, poor wee thing.
In between feeding and comforting Poet I enjoyed looking through your portraits this week – so much colour and joy. I completely sympathised with this sleepy sick series, hope she’s better now / siblings immersed in the wonder of the world – magic / Hello Everly! – you sweet little girl, you / a gorgeous b+w shot / beautiful little Alannah checks for mail – I adore everything about this vignette.
I was recently informed that Che & Fidel has been nominated for an Australian Writer’s Centre blogging award. There’s a “people choice” section and whilst I understand that the process can be a little annoying (and your time is precious) I would absolutely love your vote. You just need to go here, find Che & Fidel on the first page and click ‘next’ till you find ‘done’. Thank you, so much.

i adore that hat and i'm not surprised that look broke a mama's heart! i too have been comforting poorly kiddies, i sympathise, hope she feels better soon xxxxxxx
I feel I've had that poorly gaze for the past 5 months… it is heartbreaking and also incredibly tiring. Wish little Poe well xx
what a great contrast of mood and feeling between the two pictures. happy and bright against sad and gloomy. hope she feels better soon! xo
Oh, so sorry that Poe is feeling under the weather. She looks so small and sad. 🙁 Sending good healing energy from across the world!
Jodi
I love Che's Easter hat – the birthday cake candles on the top are just inspired!
Emma x
We were only allowed to use materials that we had at home. Che went to a party last weekend and there was a pinata so I grabbed the leg of the pinata horse to use as the 'top hat'. Daniel cut a black piece of cardboard, Che went crazy with paint, glue and glitter, and then we raided the craft draw for candles and ribbons. Lots of fun (and it cost nothing!) x
I had to have a long hard look to work out the first photo, i like that, and what a great sombreo ish creation! And little poet, who could fail to be moved by that face-i have a strong urge to scoop her up and make it all better. Get well soon little one x
I hope little Poet is feeling better soon!

aw. this portrait of poet broke my heart. sending healthy thoughts your way.
My little one has just recovered from this. Our holistic Chiro diagnosed her with a bird flu like virus…the first real bug she has had. Pretty frightening when the fever goes on for days. Slowly getting back to full health with lots of good homeopathics and nourishing foods. Get well soon Poet
Such a gorgeous, gorgeous shot of your sweet Poet, though I'm so sorry she's been feeling poorly.
Here's to a healthful rest of the weekend!
hope your wee girl feels better soon, I imagine you will treasure that easter hat
Loving his festive Spanish looking hat. And Poet, oh baby girl you are breaking your Mamma's heart and hundreds of others hearts too!! Get better soon. xx
Poor poet. My girl was sick for about 10 days with fever, and it was rotten. I hope she recovers quickly. Congratulations on the nomination. I voted for you the other day!

Sweet girl. I hope she feels better soon. Always breaks your heart to see your kids ill.
I'm late this week! Poor Poet – that's a beautiful portrait, but such a sad Poet. x
I am getting later and later each week!! Will try better next week, promise. xo
I'm a little late here, but just wanted to add that the picture of Poet is one of my very favorite that I've seen in this series. Perfect light and that little bow mouth- stunning!

Oh dear, I can see how that look broke your heart. Around here winter is finally loosening its grip but we've been through quite a lot of unwell-ness and fever lately, so I have seen my share of sad and tired eyes…
I was glad to read in your later post that Poet is getting better.
oh dear that face. Get well fast Poet.
Oh thank you for the mention. I didn't have the heart to tell her there's no mail on a Sunday.
Yes!! I'm finally caught up!! x

Such a beautiful portrait of Poet – my favourite for the week 🙂
I have tried several jackets in stores before, but they didn't fit me well, so I took chance to search on webs, found this Sheepskin Jackets UK on a picture sharing site, and finally reached this page to order, my order went smooth, and I got the perfect fit on this Sheepskin Jackets.
