simple play

By some kind of miracle I managed to fall asleep before midnight last night and yet I was wide awake again come 2:30am. Strange sleep patterns are perfectly fine during the holidays but now that school has returned and we have a bell to conform to, it’s not exactly ideal.

After a rough and demanding start to the morning, Poet revelled in the fact that she had me all to herself. And whilst I did have work to do, she managed to occupy herself for a few hours, happy with a constant supply of fresh fruit and sandwiches to keep her going.

I can never predict when contented play will align with a demanding work schedule but today it did….and I’m grateful. To make it even sweeter, the sun shone after three days of torrential rain (our water tank is brimming!) and I got four loads of washing on the line.

Little things but by no means inconsequential.

    I love those days!
Yesterday we had a hideous day…for some reason we were all up at 3:30! By about 8:00 I had had enough! Needless to say the day was long and fairly painful.
But today was a perfect day…funny how those lovely days seem to come right exactly when you need them.

Lovely post and photos. It's so nice when life aligns perfectly, almost like a fairy tale! These are also the moments I lean on when things get harder… By no means inconsequential indeed!

I used to rent a place where I had tank water – there's nothing like knowing the rain has come and it's at a decent level again! And tank water always tastes better than town water.

The ocean. We're lucky enough to live very, very close to the beach. The surf has been big this week! x
