sakura bloom sling diaries – exploration
We’re not city dwellers so a visit to Melbourne was, for us, an adventure. We travelled by train to Flinders St Station and from there we walked to Degraves St where the paper merchant, cupcake baker and barista extraordinaire left us in awe. The laneways were bustling and I was ever so grateful to wear Poet in the sling…her first experience of beautiful Melbourne and its brilliant autumn light.
After coffee and cake we wandered to the walls splashed with colour – mesmerising street art synonymous with the stylish city. Before long Che, with his paper bag and Tin Tin book, just couldn’t wait any longer.
His first tram ride. Her first tram ride.
Soon after, Poet snuggled in and surrendered to city-induced sleep.
I wear Poet in the sakura bloom pure linen sling in twilight
Che wears shoes c/o jonah and the girl
Poet wears knickerbockers by bugandbeetle, shoes c/o all about heidi
Tamara joined us as we explored and documented our journey in her beautiful, feminine style. Thank you lovely one, for telling our story and capturing the essence of Melbourne. (The chats were so good too!)
These photos are SO beautiful. Love them all. 🙂
Jodi- your (sling-)style is just wonderful.
oh, these pics are wonderful, what a lovely record. loving that sling, too.
I nearly died when I saw the cuteness that is Poet's hair in that first shot. It went on like that for picture after picture. A beautiful fam on a beautiful day in a beautiful city (with fluffy hair baby) – beautiful! x
You definitely look like you belong, city folk or not! xx
What lovely photos! It must have been so lovely to hold your little one so close to you amongst all the bustle of the city x
Beautiful, beautiful pictures. So glad the weather was good to you, perfect for a wander through the city..
Jodi! These are so SO stunning! Tamara's photos exceeded all my (high!) expectations – I love these. Poet is just getting more and more adorable, if that is possible. And Che in those glasses? Just gorgeous.
so beautiful. so much talent all round.
Just discovered your blog…love it! Photos are brilliant. Amazing how across the globe we can connect into each other's lives…crazy cool.

You have a beautiful family Jodi. Makes me want to have one of my own (soon I hope).
Tamara, you captured the day perfectly. xx
wow..such beautiful photos. they tell such a story.
These photos are amazing! What a talented woman, that Tamara! And your family is just beautiful.

Oh that wispy baby hair blowing in the wind! Such beautiful photos! This makes my heart ache for Melbourne. The train station, the laneways, the tram ride – it all captures the spirit of Melbourne perfectly. x
jodi, these are so very beautiful. I just came from tam's, I had goosebumps as I scrolled, she captured you all so perfectly – and this beautiful city. stunning! x
p.s. How did you find the single layer linen sling in comparison to the double layer? I can't decide whether to buy the single or double layer (single for more comfort in the heat of summer, but double may be needed for when Everly gets heavier, though she is petite for her age).
Decisions, decisions! I think you would be better off going for the single layer – it's still incredibly supportive and will be cool enough to wear in the depths of summer. In saying that I really do love my double-layer (I bought it when I was pregnant with Poet) and the silk one is fabulous too. Have I just made it harder for you? x
Jodi, was it the double layer you were wearing in these photos? I have a single layer and it just does not seem to support my 9 month old. Sigh. They look so gorgeous but I always find I default to my ergo. Gorgeous photos by the way. Isn't she a lovely city.
Yes, they are all lovely! The last photo is the perfect end to your wonderful post.
Jodi, you are smokin' hot

p.s THANK YOU SO MUCH for the bug and beetle shout out. YOu are far too kind!

holy crap you make collingwood station look beautiful! (something I would have thought impossible)
It was Burwood station Claire…I think the light + photographer made it look beautiful 😉 x
Oh, haha, the other …wood station. Even more impressive then!
Such dreamy photos. She's just a bit clever that lady (Tamara). Tin Tin books take me back to my childhood. Can you see a little Creative emerging from Che's character?!
x
Most definitely Claire. He'll sit in his room for hours upon hours reading books, dreaming up characters etc. I remember watching Tin Tin on ABC as a kid…x
The black & white portrait of Poet looking right into the camera just made my heart stop. It is an absolutely magical photo of her, it is like looking right into her beautiful soul.
stop it! just when i thought you guys couldn't get much more gorgeous, your stroll through the city has taken you all to new heights. had a look at tamara's website and that pic of you looking at che with your hand on your chest is just perfectly precious. i actually thought they were daniel's photos, a similar beauty, until i realised he was in the pics. stunning
