52 | the ones that got away

To be honest, I didn’t have time to go through all my 2013 photos and pick a few “outtake” portraits. But curiosity got the better of me so I strolled through the year and subsequently saw these photos in a new light – a very nostalgic one.

I have no idea why these shots didn’t make it into 52; obviously other portraits were more meaningful to me at the time. Sometimes I get caught up in the beauty of the shot, at other times I choose a portrait because of the moment I captured or the emotion it conjures.

Looking through these outtakes and all the shots that made up 52 this year….well, I’m just so grateful that I persevered. I’m proud of this project.

ps. thanks to Claire for suggesting this “outtake” idea…

can you do a "how to post" on what you do with photos once you take them? how do you store them? i have digital photos floating around on 2 computers and no real idea how to keep from losing them. its stressful 😉

Beautiful! I especially adore the capture of Poet by the pond. Stunning. And to Lana's comment above, I'd love to hear your recommendations on saving files for web. Thanks again for hosting this project, I am so, so happy to have discovered it. It has kept me inspired and motivated and organized throughout this first year with our daughter – I'm so very grateful for the community. Can't wait to begin the project again in 2014!

They're all lovely Jodi – but I adore the one of Poet in her yellow boots. I'd take that outfit for Josephine any day…in fact it could almost be Phiney! Poet and Phiney have such a similar look still, which I love 🙂 xx

You should be proud Jodi! This project is fabulous and has brought so many people together. These 'outtakes' are incredible. The one of Poet stepping into number 34 is my favourite one I think! I hope all have a very merry Christmas. x

Yes! I have a ridiculous amount of photos…way more than my little man will ever want to sort through. My goal is to be a little bit more discerning with the photos I take next year. 🙂
